Allergies

Allergies can affect all parts of the body, including the feet. Itchy, irritating rashes can develop on your feet when you have an allergic reaction to your footwear.

Foot allergies that develop into rashes are also called contact dermatitis, and can be very uncomfortable. They can be caused by a number of things, including:

  • The chemicals involved in the production of the sufferer’s shoes
  • The material or fabric of the sufferer’s shoes
  • The stain or colorant of the sufferer’s shoes
  • The interaction of the sufferer’s foot sweat with the shoe’s chemicals

The key part of treating a foot allergy is to identify the allergen at the root of the problem and avoid it. Dr. Jackson will examine your feet to ensure a proper diagnosis and work with you to find out what the particular cause of the problem is so that you can avoid it in the future.
